British Paralympic 100m wheelchair racer, Harold Bernshaw has been re-instated with the use of his legs after a horror accident during training in Sheffield.
It has been reported that he fell out of his wheelchair during a 100m time trial and landed awkwardly on his neck as he went forward. It placed back a nerve that was thought to be useless since the age of 4.
His trainer, Derek Derngate ran to the scene.
"I attempted to pick him up and put him back in his chair. When I saw that he was able to move his legs, I ran to my car, and ran Harold over twice. It didn't work." Said the 45 year-old from his prison cell this afternoon.
Harold was instantly thrown out of the British squad and will not be eligable for wheelchair races of any kind in the future.
"I tried to pretend I was still paralysed before anybody saw but the whole incident was caught on amateur camera. It's ruined my life and my career" Bernshaw Said earlier today.
Let's just hope there are no repeat incidents for any of the other entrants from our fine Nation.
