Today in Court, Chris Tarrant denied that he noticed anything suspicious at £1m winner, Charles Ingram's answers when taking part in a Who Wants to be a Millionaire? program in 2001.
"It was not apparent to me at the time that there was any kind of foul play going on." said the 84 year old TV Presenter.
It has been alleged that on the £64,000 question, Mr Ingram produced a Hewlett-Packard iPAQ pocket PC from his jacket and played with it for around 2 minutes before giving the correct answer. He has since dismissed this as trying to build the tension.
When Mr Ingram was unsure of the answer to the crucial £1m question, he repeatedly read out the 4 answers until the alleged accomplice, 39 year old Mr Whittock stood up, started coughing and threw himself down the steps leading to the stage.
"It's just circumstancial and I'm pretty sure Mr Ingram will be awarded the cheque" Said a hopeful Chris Tarrant after the hearing.
